New 1776cc engine!!
Posted at 03:33:24 PM in 1971 Super Beetle
In June I replaced my tired stock 1600cc engine with a new Herbie Special 1776cc engine from Quality German Auto Parts. It has dual Kadrons and the works. I'm pleased with it so far. It only took me a weekend to drop the old engine and put the new one in. It was my first time doing it and I did it by myself. I'll do a technical article on the engine drop procedure when I get a chance.
I'm also planning to rebuild the old engine into possibly a turbo 1914. So hopefully I'll have some technical posts on that subject at a later date.
I close on my new house Sept 30 (I can't wait). I'll finally have a 2 car garage that I can set up shop in, so I expect to be working on lot's of fun projects soon!!My car galleries are up.

I've started uploading pics of my various VW projects in the Gallery section of the website. Stay tuned for more pics of Volkswagen shows like the Kelly Park in San Jose and Bugorama in Sacramento.
Site rebuild.

Well, my old VW site database tanked a while ago but I still get links to it. So I decided to build a new site with the blog software I wrote and rebuild some of what my previous site had before. I'm planning on putting up pics from various VW shows. A recount of my 1974 1303 German Look project. Documenting my 1971 1302 Super Beetle project and various other VW related junk. Hope you enjoy.

I'll also shamelessly plug some other websites I've worked on. Check out ShopSmartShoes.com for shoe shopping and ShopSmartGadgets.com for electronics shopping.
